Comment Submittal Guide for Site #14 Relocation

CMT Site #14 Comment Submittal:  The TKPOA has asked Lahontan to approve the move of one “herbicide/UV-C combo” site (#14). This was requested as part of our APAP (aquatic pesticide application plan). For details on the request, please see section 3.2.2 of our APAP (aquatic pesticide application plan) which can be found at www.keysweedsmanagement.org/cmt-project. One notable benefit of the proposed change would be a material reduction in the size of “restricted test area A.”

It’d be greatly appreciated if you could submit a comment to Lahontan supporting our requested relocation of “combo site”#14. There is a 30 day comment period. Many different arguments can be pursued: reduced herbicide use, better logistics, smaller test sites,  more similar test sites, significantly lower impact on recreational boating, etc. Comments can focus on one element of the change or the entire list of reasons. Comments can be short and to the point.

The Lahontan Water Board will accept written comments on the amendment to the APAP until 5:00 pm on April 1, 2022.

Comment letters may be submitted electronically, via email, with the subject “Tahoe Keys Weeds Control Methods Test – APAP amendments” to the following e-mail address: lahontan@waterboards.ca.govl
